We are so excited to be partnering with Lindsay & Matthew McMahan’s non-profit, Serve Hope!  Lindsay & Matthew founded Serve Hope with a deep desire to disciple people in Central America to follow Jesus while equipping them with skills to pursue their passion.  Serve Hope has had a presence in Honduras for over 10 years, and regularly hosts church groups, college students, and ministry teams from all over! 

During our time at Serve Hope, we will be hosting a Christian camp called Camp Ascenso for the local Honduran children who need to experience the love of Jesus!  We will serve together, share the gospel, and spend time together in community.  This is a week you won’t want to miss!

What are the trip dates?

Mark your calendar! The mission trip will be from Saturday, June 7th - Wednesday, June 11th. 

Do I need a passport?

Yes, all participants must have a valid passport! Make sure your passport is up to date and does not expire within six months of the trip’s end date (June 11th) - that means your passport needs to be valid through December 11, 2025.  If yours expires before then or you don’t have one yet, don’t worry, you still have time to get that taken care of!

Where will we stay?

Students will stay on site on the Serve Hope campus. Mentors will stay very close at a hotel complex run by a former missionary of Serve Hope.   All facilities are secure and overseen by the staff at Serve Hope International.

Will there be safe drinking water?

Yes, safe drinking water will be provided throughout the trip. There is clean drinking water available on the Serve Hope campus, and we will also have bottled and filtered water accessible to everyone!

Is it safe to travel to Honduras?

Yes!  In fact, it’s just a quick 3 hour flight, and we will be hosted from start to finish by the staff at Serve Hope.

How much does the trip cost, and what does it include?

The total cost of the trip is $1,800! The cost includes your flight, accommodations at Serve Hope, all meals, transportation, and the cost for us to put on Camp Hope for the children!

Are fundraising opportunities available?

Yes, we encourage participants to fundraise!  Macy Seale will provide training and personalized fundraising links for those who want to fundraise the cost of the trip!  Please email her at macy@ascentmentors.com!

What kind of work will we be doing?

We will be putting on a Christian camp program for the local Honduran children who live nearby the Serve Hope Mission Campus!  We will also have an outreach day in the community where we empower the children to minister alongside us to their own families through distributing water filters, which is an easy way to share the gospel!
